Bio- Jody McQuarrie Kennedy
My Anishinaabe and Celtic heritage is deeply woven into the way I walk gently on Mother Earth. I have lived, loved, played, and healed on the land my entire life. Rooted in the teachings of ‘All My Relations’ I carry a deep passion for helping all beings of Creation; connecting through ceremony, care, kindness and community.
As steward of the land, I protect and care for its beings, practice reciprocity, teach and listen to the more-than-human world, and pass on knowledge so future generations can thrive.
I have worked across healthcare as a physician’s assistant, land-based counsellor, and Endnaamaaget ( Anishinaabe for “the one who helps”) in a land-based mental health & addictions program, and now serve as a traditional knowledge facilitator focusing on curriculum and program development.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Social Work and a Mental Health and Addictions Worker diploma, and am certified as a Personal Support Worker, Art Therapy practitioner, Forest Therapy Guide, and Nature Connection Facilitator.
My personal Nature Connection practice. Discovering Forest Therapy & Nature Connection has been truly life changing for me. My Sit Spot practice has been transformative. It offers me a sacred space to connect with my thoughts and feelings, allowing for deeper introspection and healing.
